Private sperm donation has been referred to as the ‘wild west’ due to the lack of regulations, and there is some truth to this reference. Some of these Facebook groups could be compared to Tombstone or Dodge City with the sense of anarchy that sometimes prevails. There can be a real feeling of ‘this town isn’t big enough for the two of us’ cliché with rival groups engaging in what could almost be classed as feuds.
While not strictly the Hatfields and McCoys or the Earps and Clantons things can get quite nasty from time to time as egos rub against each other. Usually it’s best to just sit back and enjoy the show and not get involved, staying focused on the reason you joined the group or groups in the first place , be it as a recipient seeking a private sperm donor, or a private sperm donor advertising your services is usually best . If you happen to incur the wrath or attention of the more egotistical moderators or group members it can be difficult to get off their radar.
As you will discover several of the groups listed below have the same admin or moderators and should they form a negative opinion of you it could impact on your finding a suitable donor or donating your sperm as a new sperm donor.
Our advice would always be to join a few groups and spend a week or two just reading posts and the way these posts are responded to. Take the time to educate yourself with the various methods of insemination and make sure they are acceptable for the group you’ve joined. It would also be to your advantage to do some research prior to posting on the group so that you have an understanding of the basics of tracking ovulation and your fertile window in addition to the various sperm donation methods available.
